Tauber-Solar Expands BESS Analytics Across Portfolio and O&M-Managed Assets

As an operator and manager of energy infrastructure, Tauber-Solar is driving the advancement of data-driven operating models for battery energy storage systems (BESS). Following two successful projects of its subsidiary, Tauber-Solar is extending its collaboration with TWAICE and scaling analytics capabilities across its growing O&M portfolio.

The decision reflects a broader shift in the BESS market, where independent analytics are becoming a core part of operations, from commissioning through long-term asset management.

The expanded rollout builds on a collaboration that began in October 2023 with a 22 MWh LFP system and continued with a second 22 MWh LFP project in Waltershausen, Germany. Tauber-Solar is now extending the analytics platform across a 310 MWh fleet of own and client assets. Additional projects are already under construction and are expected to begin commercial operation in 2026 and 2027.

Tauber-Solar is using TWAICE BESS analytics to shorten commissioning cycles, detect issues earlier during operations, and support data-driven discussions with suppliers and service providers. The platform provides independent insights into battery behavior, including predictive analysis of imbalance, resistance, and thermal trends. With this, the operator can make more informed operational decisions and safeguard long-term asset performance and availability across its entire fleet, independent of the OEM or integrator.

In addition to its own assets held in Tauber Energy, Tauber-Solar is also using TWAICE analytics on battery systems managed through its O&M service business. By applying the same data-driven standards to third-party assets, the company is increasing transparency, improving operational performance, and establishing scalable best practices in battery storage operations.

Arne Weinig, Managing Partner at Tauber-Solar Group: ”Operating battery storage is becoming an increasingly data-driven business. Independent analytics are a key enabler for actively managing performance, availability, and economic outcomes across our as well as our client portfolios. As we continue to scale, these capabilities are fundamental to how we operate and optimize battery assets.”

Stephan Rohr, CEO at TWAICE: “The next phase of the BESS market is operational maturity. As fleets scale, operators need structured, repeatable ways to turn BESS data into operational decisions across commissioning, O&M, and long-term asset management. Tauber-Solar is positioning itself at the forefront of that shift by integrating BESS data analytics into operational workflows.”
